GUI ScreenIO for Windows |
GUI ScreenIO will open the Help documentation of your choice when the user requests it by pressing the F1 key or selecting Help from the menu, provided you have specified the type of Help in use in your main panel.
Furthermore, if you use Microsoft HTML Help or standard HTML files for your application, GUI ScreenIO will open your document to the page, and the location within that page, containing the documentation for the panel and the active field.
Like your GUI ScreenIO application, GUI ScreenIO's help launcher will launch the help file for the current language.
If you translate your help files to the languages your application supports, GUI ScreenIO will display the help for the current language automatically.
GUI ScreenIO presently supports several types of integrated documentation.
The GUI ScreenIO panel editor can automatically generate the files for standard HTML documents and Microsoft HTML Help.
The text for the Help Generator is stored in the comments of your panel copybook. You define the text in the panel editor by right-clicking the item of interest, and selecting Edit Help... from the context menu.
If your application requires more elaborate documentation than that provided by the GUI ScreenIO Help Generator (for example, if you want to include images, tables, and other more complex objects in your documentation), you can manually create documentation in a way that can be integrated with GUI ScreenIO's help launcher.
