GUI ScreenIO's panel editor

You design your panels interactively, using the GUI ScreenIO panel editor.  The panel editor was developed using GUI ScreenIO (it takes advantage of some facilities which are not available to you, however).

What You See Is What You Get

The GUI ScreenIO panel editor is an easy to use, interactive WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get, pronounced "wizzy-wig") editor.  It's easy to design your panels, since they look much the same in the editor as they apear to your end-user.

Test panels while you design them

The editor can execute your panel so that you can see how it will act when it is displayed by your COBOL program.

This is useful for testing data validation, tabbing order, comboboxes and listboxes, and the general appearance of your panel.

Tools make panel design easy

The panel editor has a number of tools that make it easy to create nicely formatted panels, plus you can use our Copy and Paste facilities to copy controls from one panel to another.

Edit many panels at once

You can edit up to 50 panels concurrently, just as you can edit many documents at one time in a word processor.  This makes it easy to compare panels, or to copy controls from one panel and paste them to another.

Application profile

GUI ScreenIO saves your preferences for panel defaults in an application profile, so that it's easy to create new panels with a consistent appearance.
